FaceTracks was founded on one simple principal which then gave birth to a second. The following three quotes sum up the entire essence of FaceTracks, what drives us, and what should encourage Artists to get on board as well as the public to buy their music through Facebook, through FaceTracks.
The first goal was to:
Use the power of Facebook to reduce costs and allow the Artist to keep the bulk of the download revenue
It was the early FaceTracks Artists who came up with the idea to “do some good”:
Let’s take a percentage of those extra earnings and donate them to a charity of our choice
It may sound altruistic but the reality is that it is good business too:
If the public had the option to pay the same price (or less) but see a larger portion go to the Artist and also see a percentage donated to charity, would that not be the preferred method to buy their on-line music?
All FaceTracks Artists are strongly encouraged to select a charity and donate a portion of their FaceTracks revenue to the cause. Charitable Artists will receive additional exposure on the FaceTracks website as well as priority in staging their individual campaigns.
